- Placement Fee
This should not be more than the worker’s one-month salary. Note that household service workers (HSWs) or domestic workers, caregivers, and seafarers are exempted from paying such fee. Moreover, collection of placement fee is not allowed in countries such as United Kingdom (UK), Netherlands, Ireland, Japan and four provinces of Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan) and for workers with H2B or H1B visa for USA. On the other hand, there are countries like Taiwan, that allow charging of fee more than the one-month salary because of the additional dues like broker’s fees, etc.
