Job Description
- Perform TIG (GTAW) and SMAW welding on various pipe materials and thicknesses, following welding procedures and specifications.
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, schematics, and isometric drawings to ensure accurate weld placement and alignment.
- Conduct pre-weld preparation and post-weld inspection to maintain quality standards and prevent defects.
- Ensure that all welding work meets project codes, standards, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with Pipe Fitters and other team members to ensure accurate alignment and fit-up of piping systems.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in safe working condition.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols to create a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Engineering(Mechanical) or similar fields.
Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Pipe Welder in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Certification: Qualified in TIG (GTAW) and SMAW welding processes, with demonstrated skill in pipe welding.
- Proficient in TIG and SMAW welding techniques for various pipe materials and diameters.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality and defect-free welds.
- Basic understanding of safety standards and regulations in the oil and gas industry.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members on fit-up and welding tasks.
