Job Description
- RESPONSIBLE FOR PREPARING HIGH-QUALITY DISHES THAT REFLECT AUTHENTIC ASIAN FLAVORS, ASSISTING THE HEAD CHEF WITH DAILY KITCHEN OPERATIONS, AND MAINTAINING HIGH STANDARDS OF FOOD QUALITY AND PRESENTATION.
- ROLE INVOLVES EXECUTING MENU ITEMS, ENSURING INGREDIENT FRESHNESS, AND SUPPORTING THE CULINARY TEAM WITH FOOD PREPARATION AND COOKING TASKS AS NEEDED.
- PREPARE, COOK, AND PRESENT DISHES IN LINE WITH THE RESTAURANT'S RECIPES, QUALITY STANDARDS, AND PRESENTATION GUIDELINES. ASSIST IN DEVELOPING, REFINING, AND EXECUTING MENU ITEMS, PARTICULARLY IN ASIAN CUISINE, UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE HEAD CHEF
- WORK CLOSELY WITH THE HEAD CHEF TO MAINTAIN HIGH CULINARY STANDARDS AND ENSURE THAT ALL DISHES MEET CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS. ASSIST IN DEVELOPING NEW MENU ITEMS, ESPECIALLY IN ASIAN CUISINE, BASED ON GUEST PREFERENCES AND SEASONAL INGREDIENTS.
- ADHERE TO FOOD SAFETY AND SANITATION STANDARDS AT ALL TIMES, FOLLOWING PROPER HYGIENE PRACTICES. ASSIST IN TRAINING AND MENTORING JUNIOR KITCHEN STAFF ON THE PREPARATION AND COOKING OF ASIAN DISHES.
Qualifications:
- MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN A KITCHEN ENVIRONMENT, WITH A STRONG FOCUS ON ASIAN CUISINE, SUCH AS THAI, CHINESE, JAPANESE, KOREAN, OR INDIAN DISHES.
- EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A HOTEL, RESORT, OR UPSCALE RESTAURANT IS AN ADVANTAGE.
- PROFICIENCY IN A VARIETY OF COOKING TECHNIQUES, PARTICULARLY THOSE USED IN ASIAN COOKING (E.G., STIR-FRYING, STEAMING, WOK COOKING).
- IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF ASIAN SPICES, HERBS, SAUCES, AND INGREDIENTS, AND FAMILIARITY WITH PREPARATION TECHNIQUES UNIQUE TO ASIAN DISHES. UNDERSTANDING OF DIETARY RESTRICTIONS RELATED TO ASIAN CUISINE, SUCH AS VEGETARIAN, VEGAN, AND GLUTEN-FREE MOD
- ABILITY TO WORK IN A FAST-PACED ENVIRONMENT, MULTITASK, AND HANDLE THE PRESSURE OF HIGH-VOLUME SERVICE. DETAIL-ORIENTED, ORGANIZED, AND ABLE TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS AND RECIPES PRECISELY.
- COMMITMENT TO CONTINUOUS LEARNING AND STAYING UP-TO-DATE WITH TRENDS IN ASIAN CUISINE. STRONG COMMUNICATION AND TEAMWORK SKILLS, WITH A COLLABORATIVE APPROACH TO WORKING WITH THE KITCHEN TEAM AND HEAD CHEF.
