Job Description
- Conduct rigorous testing of plumbing products in accordance with established protocols and industry standards.
- Develop, implement, and validate testing methods to ensure consistent quality and reliability.
- Design and construct testing jigs tailored to specific testing requirements
- Oversee routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory testing equipment
- Ensure all instruments are calibrated accurately and maintained in optimal working condition.
- Manage calibration schedules and maintain detailed records to support NATA accreditation compliance.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret test data to prepare comprehensive reports and technical documentation.
- Ensure all test results and maintenance activities are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Utilize MS Office applications for data analysis, report generation, and documentation
- Create and modify CAD models for testing equipment and jigs as per testing requirements.
- Design, fabricate, and modify testing jigs using welding and lathe operations as needed.
- Work independently to troubleshoot and innovate testing solutions that enhance laboratory processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to refine designs and improve testing methodologies.
- Uphold rigorous laboratory safety protocols to protect personnel and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment, adhering to all environmental and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with quality assurance, engineering, and technical teams to improve testing procedures and equipment performance.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training initiatives to stay current with industry advancements.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical support when needed
- Assist in inventory management, including the procurement and storage of testing supplies and equipment.
- Support audit processes and inspections to uphold the laboratory’s accreditation status.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
- Demonstrated experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably within plumbing products testing.
- Prior exposure to NATA or similar accreditation standards is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in designing testing jigs and working independently in a technical setting.
- Hands-on experience in welding and lathe operations, with a track record of fabricating or modifying laboratory equipment.
- Proficiency in CAD software for designing and modifying testing equipment.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
- Strong technical report writing and data analysis skills.
- Competency in welding and operating a lathe for equipment fabrication and maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.
- Trade qualification in fitting and machining or a related technical field.
